Tribu Wagas: The Magic Behind Our Second LTD Collection | Why 3 Designs?

Omne Trium Perfectum.

Translation? Everything that comes in threes is perfect.

This old Latin philosophy implies that anything that comes in threes is inherently more gratifying and special to us, humans. We have this innate, entrenched inclination towards things that come in threes.

Few notable examples to strengthen such philosophy include:

  • Three words: I love you
  • Three primary colors: red, yellow, blue
  • Three wishes granted by “genie”
  • Three Kings
  • Three musketeers

And now, with the third month of the year waving hello, Wagas Ukuleles adds to the list by bringing you three limited-edition designs for this March!

The Story Behind Our Second LTD Collection

If you didn’t know yet, every product released by Wagas Ukuleles is specifically designed to reflect a piece or two of Richie Wagas’ (founder of Wagas Ukuleles) life or his hometown, Compostela, Cebu.

This March, Wagas Ukuleles presents three designs that significantly hit home to Richie, namely: Butanding, Bandera, and Araw.

Butanding

Part of Cebu’s pride includes the gentle giants of Oslob, otherwise known as whale sharks. Whale shark watching is a popular activity of the island where tourists and natives alike flock to Oslob to encounter and mingle with these friendly creatures.

Bandera

As a loud and proud Filipino, Richie dedicates his success to the country. In everything he does, wherever he goes, he makes sure to bring the Philippine banner with him. One of his ultimate goals is to bring local crafts to the international setting. He believes that although a relatively small country, we do have what it takes to be as great and as special. His advocacy? For every Filipino—the youth, especially, to love their country as they love themselves.

Araw

Richie is fond of catching the sunrise. He believes that more than the act of the sun rising, it symbolizes hope. For him, every sunrise is a reminder that after darkness comes light and new beginnings. Thus, he wishes to use this ukulele design to inspire people to always have faith no matter how hard and heavy life may seem to be at times.
